So you have a special event to go to, huh? You probably already spent some time getting your perfect outfit ready for this occasion. How about taking it up a notch and consider getting your makeup done professionally?
Beauty Architects may be able to help you with your FOTD (face of the day), whether they're for debuts, corporate launches, or just an extra special brunch celebration:
Daytime Event Makeup Services
For daytime events, you generally want your makeup to look natural. The sunlight will easily be able to show the products you put on, so you don't really need a lot of makeup.
One of the daytime looks that has been gaining popularity is a peachy, glow. For this type of look, you'd want to make your skin look supple and bright, and accentuate the high points of your face to bring dimension, with very little to no contouring needed. Typically, makeup services for these types of events will involve hydrating and priming steps prior to makeup application, to prep the skin for either a natural or dewy finish without it creasing. Neutral and peachy tones will be typically used on only one to two parts of your face: your eyes and cheeks, your eyes and lips, or your lips and cheeks. After all, you want a peachy glow, not look like a carrot.
Another popular one is how the French like to do their makeup: nude colored eyes with a red lip. Sometimes a cat-eye winged liner is also added. This is one of those classic beauty looks that works well with velvet or matte finish foundations. You can never go with a red lipstick, but for daytime looks, you'd want that to be the focus of your look, so it would be best to tone down color on the rest of your face.
Evening Event Makeup Services
For nighttime events, your makeup can go bolder, smokier, more glamorous than how you'd typically wear it during the day. Heavier makeup is typically recommended to avoid looking washed out. This is an amazing opportunity to play around with jewel tones, metallic eyeshadows, blinding highlights and amazing contouring.
For a classic glamorous look, a brown smokey eye paired with deep red lipstick is what we would recommend. You can use a champagne or rose gold color on the center of your lids to make them pop, and go with either a glossy, dark red lip or matte true red. Professional makeup artists should be able to give suggestions on which feature will be best accentuated.
If you're more adventurous, try jewel tones on your eyes. This way, you can play around with colors and still keep it glam. A metallic plum, or deep emerald green shade accents smokey eyes, dark winged eyeliner, and even-darker false eyelashes. A dark lippie or a nude one could work either way, but feel free to consult your MUA if you're unsure.
You can also try a bronze goddess look: metallic nudes, jaw-dropping contour and highlight, and ultra glossy, nude lips. The key here is heavily bringing out the dimensions of your face, and accentuate the look with on-fleek eyebrows and dark, voluminous eyelashes.
Whatever your event is, wherever it's happening, and however "extra" you'd want to be, Beauty Architects will be able to help you prep for your special occasion. Give us a call or go through our roster of professional makeup artists, we're sure to find the right fit for you.
